For those that don't make the 45 entry cutoff but still want a Hawg Trough to insure compliance...

Cabela's has them for $16.99
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0002065013580a&navCount=2&podId=0002065&parentId=cat90002&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=SEARCH-cat90002&catalogCode=IJ&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat90002&hasJS=true

Alternatively, I'm sure some of you must be handy enough to make your own out of wood or PVC.  Just make sure you don't try and draw the ruler in by hand (use a sticker or attach a yardstick).  Oh, and don't be surprised if someone wants to verify that it's accurate.  I'm sure the powers that be would prefer this to using a tailor's tape to measure your fish.

Picked up my trough (thanks GWKC!) and was ready to go to work, then the weather turned. ugh.
Im planning on keeping a hard style measuring tape on board that I will place in the trough when my future fish are over 30inches.
was recently "counciled", by mulitple members, that I am a moron and should be grateful for the "21" inch ruling on my last LMB. Im now listening to my advisors and im going to shove my pride and use the "21" inch fish for AOTY.
Still planning on a bigger one, but focusing on the other species will limit my time on c-lake and my chances to go bigger in the YOTS.
thanks again for supporting standardized measureing tactics and condeming the use of soft tapes.

Adam-

You're so thoughtful to think about others Mr. Difficult... I know how you're going to do it this year. And I was wrong about the marks being there. I looked at mine and it's pretty much a blank.

Any chance anyone from the North Bay will be attending this weekend's bass clinic with compa at Aquan in San Carlos, and if so any chance that person might be able to bring/deliver the AOTY hawg troughs for those who signed up?

Just a question... don't want anyone making a special trip....

Thanks, Backcountry

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

Brian,

Is it posted somewhere to know who did and did not make the cutoff? If not, can we get a numbered list for entrants?

I think Bill has the best information on how many people have actually paid.  All I can tell you is that as of today (Jan 25th) there are 35 entries on the AOTY site that have both signed up with the AOTY website and that Bill has checked off as having paid for this year.  I'm guessing that Bill is a bit behind on his AOTY accounting because the most recent "date paid" for anyone was Jan 14th so that number (35) is likely to be an underestimate.

To check to see if Bill has updated your "date paid" in the database, log in to the AOTY site and in the very top right hand corner it should tell you the date you paid.  If you think it's wrong pm Bill and I'm sure he'll get it straightened out for you.

Thanks B.

I did as you suggested and see no date paid in the upper right hand corner.

I did get confirmation from Bill that he recieved my payment and knew it was for AOTY 08.

I'll wait, with all this rain it is about all I can do.

GP~ if you go fishin and get one...it's not going to disqualify you catch if the board was not used.
as long as it's a RIGID DEVICE used for measuring, closed mouth and pinch its tail if it wont cooperate. :smt044
....don't let that board keep you from fishin.....the 40mph winds might though? :smt009

Shoot bro, no measuring device will keep me from fishing. The weather and these winds will. But the truth is, the girlfriend is due to deliver my first child in 4 days. So staying close and ready is more important than fishing (Currently).

For the first time, giving life is more fun than taking it. Man my world is about to change. At least the state is giving me a 7 week break from work. I see a yak trip in my near future.
