Rod Leash Solutions

I found a nice little product that makes leashing rods very easy and convenient. 

The product is called Strap EZ and they come in a variety of sizes. Basically it's n elastic strap with velcro on it and a little nylon loop sticking out.  You can easily attach it to the rear or foregrip of any rod and attach a lanyard to the loop. 

I don't remember where I bought them, but I found them at some local store last year.  They are sold on the website, six for 13 bucks.  Get the 2 inch by 6 inch variety.

 I've been using something similar that I got at our local "Friedmans" hardware store. One side note- watch out where the little tag goes..
 
At Mendo I had just hooked up to a nice striper and started the see-saw battle. During the fight the little tag auto- fed itself into the levelwind mechanism on my reel. That jammed the reel and I couldn't wind in any line. After some anxious moments I finally applied enough pressure to reel in line but broke the drive gear for the levelwind. It was a simple fix but a weird unexpected OTW experience.

I have a few of them... never really tried them but they should work.  I'll toss a couple in with your gaff... you can try for yourself.
