Holy Toledo, Rory and I met up at the lake at 8:00  for a little fishing at Blue Lakes . It drizzled on us for the first hour or so and then  turned out to be a some what pleasant day. Rory and I trolled around for trout while Patrick tossed lures in the bushes for  bass. The bass action  was real slow ...................couple on and long line released. Trout trolling ended up trout mooching with worms or power bait  after nothing on the troll ...... and watching a few good ole boys catching em off a dock with the same. Rory caught his first fish via kayak...........congrats Rory!!! We caught a few nice trout 12-15 inches and called it a day......... rushed home and got everything ready for Sunday at China Camp.

Hey otobepelagic,

Congrats to Rory on his first kayak fish!  :smt004 Thanks for the report. Do you guys ever make it over with the Hobies to the Mendocino Coast area?   Lots of kayak fishin' fun up here.  Have fun at China Camp on Sunday.   Cheers,  -Matt in Mendocino

Hojoman, The Trout were basically identical. The colors were vivid..........I would have released that one had it not gulped the hook.

Matt, We have been up to the mendo coast to camp, rock fish and ab dive........it's beautiful up there.  The mendocino coast is a great place to build up the WAF account.......and she (peggy) even enjoys kayaking the Big River? just south of town.                                     Allen

Hey Allen,

Let us know next time you're planning a trip up Mendocino way to camp and dive, etc..   We live a mile from Big River, and I'll be starting to dive this year.   I'll be crabbing on Big River tomorrow.  It would be fun to get together with the Hobies.  I only know of three Hobies here;  My Sport, My buddy Herb's Revo, and Ace's (aka AsaBSpade) wife has a Hobie.   I just installed outriggers on my Sport and it's great fun on the ocean.   -Matt
