Anyone interested in taking a Wilderness First Aid class.

I'm going to sign up for this weekend class at UCSC on Mar 1-2.

Great idea Pole!! I haven't taken a class since my lifeguard days. I should do a refresher first aid/CPR someday soon.

At minimum this is some essential info. And carry a small waterproof first aid kit. :smt002

I did one of these in my guiding days, must have been around 1996-97. The 2 day course I took was taught by UCSF in Big Sur in February. It was cold & WET, and we were outside most of the time.
We had to carry 2 "victims" off a ridgetop on backboards just like in the photo. We even had to spin one sideways to get past some trees.
I recall my part in a scenario was to have "internal bleeding" following a landslide which pinched me against a tree. I remember thinking "how do act out internal bleeding?"
I learned a lot, but man I was exhausted when it was all over.
Have fun guys!
