I'm assuming by in season you mean fish that are both legal and likely to be caught this time of year.

Saltwater:
   Surfperch
Rockfish, Greenling , Cabs (speared or from shore)
   Sanddabs and other non-halibut flatfish

Check out the California Ocean Sport Fishing Map for more details..

Rivers:
   Steelhead

Lakes:
   Bass
   Trout
   Striped Bass

Buttes are open right?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Yes Mike, halibut are still open, but I did qualify my response...
