Fished lake mendocino for the first time from a yak today. My dad and I fished 4 hrs with not so much as a love tap. Slow trolled live bait mainly on the south end of the lake. No luck, still had a good time though.

Way to get out there.
It took me many trips to "mother mendo" before she looked favorably upon me.
Weather is moving through and may have them knocked down for a spell.

I was afraid of that when we left this morning. I don't have a f.f. so I don't know where the fish were hanging.

Glad to hear that someones still huntin mendo!  thanks for the report and Grats on getting out there on your MaidenYak-Voyage, w/FAMILY a BIG plus!
Look for the creek inlets along the shorelines, when you find a "V-type" cut out of the land. Hover/ paddle that area, as you imagine its path under the water, and drop your minnows STRAIGHT DOWN ON THEM, let your minimal weight hit the bottom and reel in a few times. Don't paddle to much, it will pull your bait off the bottom fast. Look at the angle of your line, should be "VERTICALLY DOWN" try to keep it like that at all costs.
Good luck and get a FF.....it makes it more fun when u see them and they don't want to BITE!   i call it MADNESS!  andsoonyouwilltoo
