It's a conspiracy I tell ya!

I can't really complain because back in January of '05, I won tickets to the ISE and an opportunity participate in a casting contest put on by Cal Trout.  Qualifying was done through the radio - KNBR.  Contestants had to call in and "name that fish."

Anyway, the grand prize was an opportunity to fish Cal Trouts property on the upper Sacramento for 4 days & 3 nights.    1st and 2nd runners-up were $500 Orvis fly rods.

It was a hokey setup in that you had to cast a casting plug into hoola hoops placed at different distances - the farther the distance, the more points earned.  I was chosen to go last which was what I hoped for because I wanted to know what I needed to do in order to win.  Everybody before me casted towards the farthest hoop for maximum points and as a result, none of the four scored any points.  I swear by their technique, none had ever fished before.  This left me casting towards a hoola-hoop about 5 feet in front of me and my first cast landed in but bounced out.  My second cast was money!

I won the grand prize but have yet to live the experience.  I made arrangements for last summer, but when I called to get more details, I found out that they overbooked my weekend.

As a way to make amends, they added an extra night for when I do get to go.   I just got into fly-fishing so it should be a blast.

Go to your closest Longs store and they have discount tickets. Two dollars off on thursday and one dollar off on the other days

I'm not surprised.  NCKA'ers are winners, tickets or no tickets. 

All you looser's don't feel bad I go every year and the show just seems to get worse every year and I didint win tickets either. But I'll see ya there.
