Caught this fish right before the close on a sabel special in my secret spot right off Gertrude Ave. sitting at my desk.  Any help? :smt003

Thanks Hobie,
I'm just bored and decided to post the latest fish ID I finished for the DFG. I was hoping that maybe it would be good enough painting to fool some of you into thinking it was a photo (guess I need to work a little harder) Next time I will photoshop a cutting board and a little blood.

Oh winter is here and there is to much swell to go crabbing.  (not that there are any crab anyway) :smt001

Mural, no problem.  Room and board (including beer), a couple helpers, supplies, maybe skip a day or two or three to go fishing for steelhead and I'm set.  Although with that list, it might end up with me smelling like fish and a bunch kids running around with paintbrushes while I try to paint with a buzz and a beer in my hand.   :smt003  Sounds fun though.

By the way, thanks everyone.  I will share more as they come. :smt001

I hear ya Mooch, I am pining for salmon season for sure, so just for you here is the first fish ID I ever painted.  A good ol' Monterey Bay salmon.  I would do it much better now, but thats what life is about.

enjoy!

Wow!

I just clicked Ab10's link under his signature and checked out the website. Unbelievably beautiful art. Anyone of us can find things there for gifts for our fishing friends or ourselves  :smt002.

Be sure and check out the process page on how sketch goes to finished work. great website, too.

Ab10,

You do awesome artwork.  I feel a little better now when I try to decipher those pesky DFG booklets.   The pictures are great but the words are not always so clear.   I grew up in La Selva.  Thanks.

Thanks John,
I'll even give anyone who is a NCKA member a 25% discount off of any prints they want.

Maybe someday I will have a process page that has a step by step on how to catch a fish. I have since forgotten. :smt003

Ab10,

You do awesome artwork.  I feel a little better now when I try to decipher those pesky DFG booklets.   The pictures are great but the words are not always so clear.   I grew up in La Selva.  Thanks.

Do you mean the way I write (remember I am an artist so my grammar sucks) or do you mean the size of the font on the site, or do you mean the text on some of the images themselves.  Feedback is always welcome, so I am stumped on what you mean. Let me know.  I grew up here for a bit, moved to Humboldt, then back here.

Thanks

Amadeo

I only meant to say that your paintings are great in the DFG booklets and to thank you, but that the DMG people sometimes don't seem to write very clearly.

Your writing is perfectly fine and clear.   Sorry for any misunderstanding.   Darn internet.   Your website and other artwork is awesome also.  Thanks.
