Fished Friday with Zvonko, one of my fishing buddies from Huntington Beach. We started out about 10:00 with water that was mirror-like. Caught one fish and had a few takedowns up till around 1:30 when the wind came up and the bite turned on. We ended up with eight fish (all released).  Fished mostly long point and in front of the boat-in camps. Zvonko  landed five stripers...not bad for his first day on a kayak, he was sworn to secrecy about this resource we call mendo.
Saturday we fished with gathering of family and friends in assorted fishing machines.  Fishing was slow in the morning again only a couple striper on minnows and one on a swimbait. The wind came up in the early afternoon and the bite got better.  Ended up with 1 to 4 striper per and 1 largemouth. All caught in the same area as the day before and all released.  It was great meeting everyone on the lake.

Fished with Holly Toledo (my son) and the masses on saturday. My task was trying to keep up with the escalating action as I had volunteered to photo the anglers. I fished on my 25+ year old Vitog dive board allowing our so-cal guest an easier ride on one of the Hobies. The night before I changed my camera settings to highest resolution and now I can not post pictures until I figure out how to resize. It was great meeting members of the site we have only corresponded with.       Allen

Great reporting.  Thanks for the pics.

Otobepelagic:  try resizing to 600x800 - this is more effective than saving at a lower quality in the HP program I use anyway...

or upload no more than three pics at a time.....it works for me in the highest resolution, then the server(ncka) will downsize them automatically....i think thats how it works.  I've heard others mention that if the size is too large it takes more time to upload/see the pic.?  I've never downsized my pics and others seem to have no problems with the OVER SIZE.  Bigger IS BETTER

otobepelagic - That's  an interesting ride you're on there - a 25 year old dive board! Can you share some more info about it? What's it made of, how has it lasted that long, etc.? It must be the Grand-Dad or Ma of sit-on-tops! Just wondering. Tom

Pelican, The dive board was built by Victor ?  (vitog)  out of San Jose around 1980. My dive buddies and I  all bought them about the same time. We use to load two tanks, weight belts, spear guns and with all the related gear rode pretty low in the water. Over the years I have applied enough marine tex  to build a new board. The boards have made several trips down Baja and ast year I took it down the russian river steelhead fishing  with great success. I now have other kayaks but just can't seem to part with the past.
