11/24 diving - abs and spearing

The long range forecast calls for a calm day on Saturday the 25th. I gotta get one last ab dive for the year and want to do some spearing. Open seat to carpool up.

I'm planning to go this Saturday afternoon to catch the extreme low tide.  Come to Humboldt and you have a tour guide...  (need Roleez!).   

I don't think I will make it as far north as Humbolt ( 6 hr drive! )

Not sure on launch yet, open to just about anywhere south of Fort Brag.

On my calendar Saturday is the 24th, which is important since 11/25 is in the post title, and Saturday looks great and Sunday the 25th not so good.

Below is the site I use to look at conditions along the coast, if you've never been to the stormsurf site spend some time there in the models section, they do swell and wind forecasts that I've found to be to most accurate available. 

(but they still are just forecasts)

Anyhow, Saturday looks like there will be a short window of very calm seas. then on Sunday the 25th things don't look so good.

The time stamp on these graphs is in GMT which is 8 hr ahead of us so the 24th at 18z hr is 10am,

Crab season opens in Mendo and Humbolt on Sat the 24th.

Is anyone heading the Van Damn or Mendo area?   I don't dive but I'd like to meet and watch and do some paddling.   -Matt

Great forecast site, delladl - I collect those, and it's a good one.   

From a cross reference of different forecasts it looks like early Saturday should be good.  I'm hoping it lasts until the minus 2' tide right at sunset.  I'm heading to the Cape for a roleez trip.

Looking good out there for Saturday, wind forecast to go with this chart is about 10kts or less in the Salt Point area.  A beautiful fall dive window.

No, Sunday!?  I'm going to last quick dip (last three of my card) at Pedotti on Sun morning.
