Arrived at the launch ~6:45 - Joel, and Scott and Roger from Sacto were setting up. Next was Tommy H., diver and fisher extrordinaire.
I shot out ahead of everyone and didn't even wet my line 'till I was a quarter mile west of the big point. Trolled straight out another half mile for nothing. No birds, nothing. Came back in a bit and headed south; finally some bait balls, but me and a PB were right on them repeatedly for nothing. By now I was down to Egg Rock off Devil's Slide, the farthest I've paddled at Linda Mar. Paddled the long troll back toward Linda Mar bay with Mike, and just before I was going to pull the rotary out, wham! About center line on the big rock, a couple hundred yards north. She weighed 14# at the house.
Tommy came in with a nice stringer of blacks, Joel and Scott some rockfish too, but the day belongs to Roger with the 30 pound WSB. Amazing! :smt026

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Whoa! The pictures bigger than life size! Some people will do anything to make their fish look big...
