I hate pulling the plug on this but weather is the bane of Steelhead fishing and I don't see any rain in the forecasts and if we got enough in the next week or so it would just muddy it up. I know some people are thinking of other options so I wanted to give them some time to change their plans. I will still be fishing the area (sonoma, mendo,BB Crab, lower river,??)so if you want to come up and hang PM me. I'll definitely reschedule this probably in Jan but it will be tough to plan weather wise.

List is a work in progress so if you are on it and can't go or you're not  and want to be PM me.
Second day drift is open to all Starting at Memorial Beach and ending at Steelhead Beach.
Water conditions will cancel we need a flow at Healdsburg of 250-1000 CFS http://cdec.water.ca.gov/river/russianStages.html it's running at 150 now so we need some rain.
If you are coming up Friday or Leaving Mon PM me. If any fish are seen I will be fishing Monday also.

I see that Sunday is open to all, but is there a maximum head count allowed for Saturday?

Since it's a small river and we will be launching and landing on Private Property I will have to limit it to about a dozen on the 1st day the 2nd day there is a public launch just below my place where more are welcome.

So then you would consider Saturday to be pretty much full I'm guessing.

Yes but it's not set in stone there are other options.

Hey Mike, if by "Brian" you mean me, great. I'm going to be down picking up my kayaks  then so I'll be there. If not, can I come as a semi-local by staying and commuting in with Naoaki?

Mike have the seasonal dams been removed from Memorial beach and at Wholer bridge yet. I'm updating my GPS with specific info for the run to steelhead beach. It's rated at class 1+, will it have all the typical features for river running. The run from Hopland down has lot's of promising features.

Mem Dam is down but the rubber at Wholer is still up I'll see if Sean can deflate it for the weekend  :smt003
The whole river is pretty tame but there is a few rapids and some pools that have decent eddys especially below Dry Crk where the added flow helps. I was thinking of starting at Alexander Valley but it's a little too long if you are fishing.

Here's the launch and take out for the first day if it works. upper end of gravel bar on the start and right where the gravel bar hits the trees at the take out, my place is on Village.
