Are the Trident and xfactor similar boats? From what I read on here it seems like they are possibly the top two big boats. I have the Perception Search 15 which is similar to the Tarpon 160. The Tarpon and Search are long and fast but I'm not sure they should be considered big like the Trisent or Xfactor. I have the Tarpon 130 for my wife and daughters and the search for myself but I will need a yak for my teenage son by summer. I'm thinking of possibly giving him the Search and getting myself a big luxurious yak like a Trident or Xfactor.

How do you think these two compare (is the Trident considerably faster)and what other model if any compare to them?

My maiden yak fishing voyage to Amador was canceled because the guy that was going to go had to work but I'm going to Folsom lake today to see if anything is biting.

I guess the big game would fit in that group as well. Won't the longer boats handle better in the ocean?

I wouldn't compare the Trident and X-Factor apples to apples.

The X-factor is a considerably bigger boat in terms of width and weight and I'm pretty sure the Trident is faster on the water.  I would put the Big Game in a similar category with the X-factor in terms of handling and performance.

I'd say the Cobra Marauder might be a decent counterpart to the Trident if you are looking for a comparison.

I would also say that the Marauder is more of a comp.  The Trident is longer and flatter, the Marauder is a little shorter and has a lot more rocker.  On paper, the Trident looks like it should be really fast, but that has not been my experience.  The Trident and Marauder are similar in speed, and i would actually give the Marauder a slight edge, especially out of the hole.  The Trident does have a great layout and some very intelligent features.

The X-F is significantly wider, and a little slower than either of these boats and is really in a different class.  It is without doubt, the best big man boat ever, and id head and shoulders above the big game or the fnd, the two other boats I would put in its class.  It is not only super fishable, but super comfy as well.
