Reached the end of the pier at 3 p.m., turned south for awhile, turned north for awhile, jigged for awhile, drifted with the wind & trolled back....

Yu'know.......the Berkeley Flats & Pier do not earn the highest levels of respect or optimism from me.    They're in my front yard but my front yard doesn't produce, yaknowwhatimean.

The plastic striper-minnow...man it looks good in the water.   A hallibut should take it.   D'u guys have an opinion whether a 'butt would take one of these?

Very nice, Butt,

Did you notice the boats working over by the Race track?

If you position yourself even with Beacon/Bacon Island (not sure the name, but it's the only one),

and straight out from the race Track, your in the area that the California Dawn is working and where I

 lost a aproxx 20lbder.

Also overheard a guy talking in the Bait shop about " crashing " Strippers behind Costco,

 Sort of the same area.

Again, best access to this area would be a Marina Parkway area Launch.

Follow Marina Parkway Blvd to the end, It will be a parking lot, and you will find a nice place to launch,

go around EAST side of Island and start bouncing popsicles,.... Danglin

i believe a halibut would bite that lure but it is too light to use effectively. a jig with more lead and less rubber would be better.  i have used a lead jig on the dropper of a 3-way rig, with a frozen anchovie or live smelt on the longer end.  i have caught halibut on both, no keepers lately however.

Felt like I needed to hit a Fish Anonymous Meeting :beer1

cpkayak's suggestion is the way to fish it..

hope to get out for a "quickie" next week if the weather holds ......... Danglin

Just noticed i made a mistake on my recon sugestions..

You can either launch out of maina Parkway area and Go East around the Island, or, go to the right

and drag your yak across a thin stretch and you go straight out from there,

And again, Richmond Point area,  " Ferry Point " Park head straight for Angel Island

 South hampton Shoal,,,,,,,,,,, Danglin
