minnow trap from kayak

Does anyone hang a minnow trap from their kayak while fishing? I was thinking that that might work when fishing around cover and not moving a lot. You could produce bait and have a place to keep them. When you want to move far or fast you could pull the trap in and put the entire thing in a 5 gal bucket.
