Looking for more deals at Sports Authority...  nothing interesting, but there's a few racks of mens shoes on clearance...  Got a nice pair of sandals and....  crocs.  I've tried to resist, but they were my size and it's true, they are the most comfortable shoe ever.  I don't think I'll be wearing them out much, but for puttering around the house, and of course yakking...  they are da bomb.

No not Crocs!

Is it just me or is there some sort of ugly shoe arms race going on.  About 10 years ago it was Tevas, then Merrel Mocs, then Keens, and now Crocs.

Okay, I'm guilty of the first three (not the white socks), but I draw the line at Crocs. I don't care how comfortable they are.

As with everything else these days it was easy for me to find a blog that agrees with my particular point of view..

These sandals are not about style. They are about comfort. I own a pair of keens and they are awesome for river walking. I'm not much of a sandal person but they have their uses.

I'm in my Merrels right now. My choice this morning was between them and the Keens.

I'd rather walk barefoot than put my hobbit feet into one of those ugly things....

Ya, they may be uncool but mooch's feet brings wearing these type of sandals to a whole new level of uncool. JK Joel. I've never even seen your hobbit feet. Are they really that hairy? My toes are pretty hairy if that makes you feel any better  :smt003

OMG, my wife,if I brought home a pair of crock's? Well, I can say, the pain & suffering I would endure would be horrendous and endless, not only for me but my neighbors as well.  She is a shoe-a-holic! naahh wouldn't be good.
Like the teva's I have for water though.

You sure it's not the hair that'd be sticking out the holes that's keeping you from wearing them? :smt005

Crocs...just watch out for escalators-they'll tear your feet off!
J/K, I think that has only happened to kids.

I tried Keens, they just don't fit me properly. I wore them for  kayak surfing in socal though & liked them for that.
For me its the tried n true reef slap (I'm fortunate that the office allows them) for onshore & booties OTW, for now.

Be careful when wearing those Crocs and using escalators. There have been several instances this year where the sole material was so soft that the shoe stuck to the escalator steps and people got hurt at the end where they couldn't get out of the shoes fast enough before their feet get slammed into where the conveyer belt loops back under.
