After way too long of a wait (damn politics) I've joined the Stealth tribe! My Fisha 500 with custom color pattern is in my yard. I couldn't be happier with how it came out. Now I need to cut out a slot in the carbon fiber flush mount GPS hatch cover, and I'll be ready to hit the water. I live 15 minutes from ARW, so I think thats where I will take it for its maiden voyage. Maybe Ill practice self-rescues too. It seems easy on Stealths though. I bought the Stealth Angla Max carbon fiber blade w/fiberglass shaft from Ruben too. I've never used a wing type paddle (is that right, wing?) I'd love pointers on how to use that paddle efficiently. Looking forward to seeing you all on the water!

Those fish and squid better count their days. She looks deadly.

I hope your new stealth impressed me as much as mine did. One of us! One of us!

Welcome to the Tribe.

There are lots of videos about  paddling. It’s not easy to use proper for with most sit on tops because you don’t have a locked position between the foot rests and seat. With the Stealths you want to adjust the foot rests so your knees are 1-2” above the kayak surface. This lets you use your legs, and core to power your stroke.

With the wing paddle it inters the water next to the kayak and then moves away from the kayak through the stroke. You exit the water about 1 1/2 - 2 paddle widths away from the side of the kayak.

I was lucky to have an instructor teach me proper form while on a kayak ergometer, and then since he was moving out of state he sold it to me. I practiced 5 days a week for about 3 months.

I have a wing paddle but decided to hold off using it until I was more familiar with the Stealth.

Here is a good video on the proper form:
