Twin Lakes

Spent four nites at Twin Lakes (near Bridgeport) last week Sun-Thur. Took my Zodiac plus two P15's.

Best weather was Sunday however we go in late in the afternoon. Though tired after the long drive we should have put in the yaks that day because after that the weather turned nasty. Cold and windy. How windy? My Chevy Tahoe shook while parked and it was hard to stand upright.

Both lower and upper Twin were low. Carry & launch was possible at lower Twin. At upper Twin you almost had to use the launching ramp.

Really liked Virginia Lakes. Little Virginia kinda small for a P15, did not see the larger Virginia Lake. Made it to Lundy Lake as well (snowing). Good size lake and easy launching at the west end for yaks.

Unfortunately because of the weather, did not get a chance to use the Prowlers. After getting back, my wife and I had a nice day kayaking at Lake Merced on Sat.

Nice pics! Too bad about the conditions  Still, it must be nice to be "out there" 

  It is really beautiful up there!  Been to Virginia lake, (the small one) and, at the time, it was snow / ice bound all around the lake except for one little area.  A lot of people were there visiting the lake.

Oh my.  I got called just looking at those pictures!  BRRRRRR with that wind chill.  Glad you got in n out without incident.  Great idea to finish off the trip with a decompression paddle at Merced.
