Decided to enjoy the warmer weather we've been having and tried to see if I could luck in to any kings. On the water by 7:30. Not many boats out today, but didn't mark many fish. Most fish seemed to be in the 40-65ft depth range which is too deep for my equipment. Still a good day out! Pretty nice launching at the ramps where trailered boats can't launch. Now I just need to see if I can catch some fish...

I think they’ve been getting trout near the surface but I’ve never fished Folsom. It seems even more on/off than Berryessa.

If a seagull poops on you, statistically it was no accident.

Thanks for the report.
When needed, I’ll troll with 5oz cannonball weights.
At 1.5 mph, with small diameter braid, it can get down 50+ feet.

I was only running 2oz weights, but I guess I'll have to add some 5oz ones to my bag! Good to know you can get them down that far! Thanks for the heads up!

A buddy and I went out on his boat yesterday 3/1. Launched at 7:10 at Browns Ravine. First boat on the water. Fished at the mouth of the South fork. Did see a lot of marks at the 45-65' range but they didn't want to play. We got all of our fish from the surface down to 20'. I even landed one surfing the top. I had just caught a Bow and tossed my Speedy Shiner back over the side. It was surfing the top about 5' behind the boat. Bam! We ended up with 9 Rainbows between us. No Kings though. Kevin
I fish, therefore I Cuss and Lie!
