Rector.  was it ever fishable from a kayak?

giants?

I checked out Yorty and it is deep. this spring is going to be insane.  last year, someone got an 8lb up in the shallows.  so Sonoma and Mendo lakes are effectively full again.

I seriously miss Hennessy,  20 minutes away...

Rector is "hike in access only" and the deer trail aint a fun portage.
As far as I could find its over a mile away from parking...

That's Hennessey in the picture. Its been closed for almost two years now.

Rector has technically never been open to the public. The hills around it are, but you have to pass NO TRESSPASSING signs(many have been tampered with) to actually access the lake. Unless you know someone, that is  :smt002 There are, or at least we're, some massive smallmouth in there.

It’s showing 1.5 to go now. It must be rising fast.

I never had really good luck at Hennessy.   but that is an indictment on my skills, not the lake.  beautiful place tho...  that back side where it get shallow has to be a party during the spawn.

It was an amazing crappie lake as a kid but it took my years of really bad bass fishing(like guaranteed skunk) to start having success. The two creek arms are a lot of fun during the spring and summer.

Went on a moto ride around there yesterday and Hennessey looked beautiful. All the small streams were really flowing so we avoided Knoxville road and its water crossings.

Yes that is the Solano county website. If you drag the marker ar the bottom from left to right it will zoom in to the most recent dates. Touch the line at the far right edge and it displays the current level. Down to tenths of a foot I believe.
