I was at the harbor today, just walking around, and stopped by the harbormaster's office to ask about the launch ramp repairs. They said that the concrete work should all be done within 2 weeks, and then they'll still need to do some paving. Anyways, it should all be done before the RF opener.

Also, the bridge across the harbor is open from west-to-east, but not the other way...

Slow and steady she goes.  Thanks for the info.
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

Thanks for the pics. Thinking about going out of the harbor this weekend unless the Monterey butt thing is too tempting. Been saying for a bit that March is when it’s worth trying out of Santa Cruz, and Sunday is 3/1

Yes, it's definitely be worth a try this time of year. Looking forward to your report...

Just got my annual cartop harbor parking sticker. The roof rack has fresh padding to coddle the plastiyacht. Dozens of pretied rigs await the jaws of destiny. The filet knife is sharper than a witch…

Ready to get out. The offseason kills brain cells.

Saw on the harbor cam today that they removed the yellow tape and orange stanchions from around the spot by the boat ramp where they filled in the sinkhole.

Good news. I'm going to go get my annual launch pass and if there is any wind, I might test my new sail this afternoon...

Looks like it'll be ready by 4/1?! I have a feeling it's going to be really busy for a bit. Everyone is chomping at the bit with the RF/Ling opening and the early halibut bite, and the potential salmon season and.... !!

I’ve been out of the harbor on opening day of rockfish and been a little surprised at how low key things were. Will see what it looks like on the first Saturday, 4/4, when I plan to run the shortest course from the harbor mouth to a rockfish & ling limit.

I’ve noticed that too, and I think it’s partly because fishing is often not that great on opening day. But, this year the expectations might be different…
