A new NCKA'er from San Jose and his Sunday stringer.....

I paddled into him sunday too, I told him that there were fish in the area and that i remember him from BAMIII(he donated BBQ Ribs)....He came from SanJose?  Now that's Madness!  I wish i could've found a smallie like that!  NICE!!!

...after hitting the sack(car/sleepinbag)at 10:30, we planned to pack-up camp in the morning, drive back down to the so.launch and target smallmouth all day......sometime in the early a.m. when it was still dark(5:30) i'm awaken by a ruckess in the camp, this shadow then starts a fire and props HIS waders in front of it to dry out(only his pair though, THANKS Brudah!) ..and then the shadow goes back to sleep.(WTF?)...so i got up, made Dan and MYSELF some coffee, packed camp, woke mooch and headed for the southlaunch.

pic1~ these guys are becoming a BAD INFLUENCE on me.

pic2~ why isn't there a fish here?

Boy...I remember the good 'ol days when we had Sean to ourselves..... everytime we made weekend plans at Mendo, we all felt "welcomed".....now that he's been "abducted" into the Mendo Crew, we don't feel the same"love" anymore  :smt011 I declare war to the Mendo Crew  :smt066 If I happen to see one of those Mendo Crew guys in ANY body of water....I simply won't say "Hello"  :smt019

meow  :smt002

By the way, I truly enjoyed having the lake free of any ski/wake boats...it was quite peaceful especially for a weekend. But we did see a few yahoos driving their mom's sation wagon in and around the muddy shoreline  :smt011

It was also interesting to see a few duck hunters on jon boats early in the AM as well....just couldn't figure out where they were doing the shooting?

thanks Dan!....by the way, as we were waiting til 9 for that @#$#! shop to open, we comtemplated calling you(if we had your number) to disreguard any BREAK-IN calls from that shop...cuz we were gonna do a SMASH and NET (pay later of coarse)

got this one up to color and it wasn't golden-brown w/red-eyes, so it had to be P&R'd in disapointment.
...same thing as before, MY NAME IS ADAM, I SEE FISH and I CAN'T PASS THEM OVER, IT IS MADNESS!

I started with 6 minnows and was down to my last 2!(should have had three, but one pulled-off an ESCAPE) and it was close to my set departure time....hunted the area for some friendly marks, found them,

pic1~ it wasn't what I was huntin, but it will make due.

pic2&3~ my biggest from Mendo so far! 32.5"

....saturday was the hardest fighting striper from mendo(so far) and sunday put out the biggest(so far) but I was HUNTING FOR SMALLMOUTH?!.....what gives?

.....great company and great weather and we got left-over FIREWOOD to BURN for the NEXT WEEKENDS CAMPOUT!!
WHERE TO FELLAS?!!

Tell you what Mooch, I'll trade you Tomales Bay for Mendo. Deal??

I do agree that it is very nice without all the power boats and jetski's on the lake.

Did Sean tell you about the brain doner that had been spinning doughnuts in the parking lot before he came over and asked us, "is it cold out there?". Then he said, "I used to sell those canoe's".

Priceless!
