I saw the thread about pool noodles (and the brotherly love used in the discussion). Has anyone used mountain bike tubes? You can get 3 inch downhill tubes that are very thick and very high volume. The tubes can be stuffed into nooks and crannies or left out in the main part of the hull. You can use a few of them in case one is punctured and they are cheap. My search 15 has a very large internal storage area and I have an over abundance of tubes so I may give it a try.

If you haven't seen downhill tubes they are nothing like regular bike tubes. The tubes are made to survive slamming into rocks at high speed.
Everybody dies, not everybody lives. What did you do today?

That sounds like a good idea.  I'm game to try it.
