my 2025 is ending in a flurry.   today, I have a work meeting and then I need to find long lost gear.  hunting gear.  I havent hunted for dang near a decade for reasons unknown.   I have some rifles I cleaned, oiled and pushed way back in the box...

going with my oldest version.  a 30-06, that fell off a small cliff with me.  hahah..it is battered but goooooddd..

what happened is my brother bought some land to hunt in Texas.  he is butt-hurt I kept ignoring his invites to check out his prized purchase.  there are hogs to be harvested.  okay okay..twist my arm.  ROAD TRIP to Texas!!

the best part?  my brother is high up the food chain at his police department.  I get to sight my rifle in at the police range!!  last time I was there, I about melted my handgun shooting a bucket full of ammo.  a galvanized bucket of ammo.  (my shooting didnt improve much).  I was punching holes in car windshields.  haha. 

I hope to come back with meat.  wild pig.  and maybe some deer if I suck it up and pay for the general license.  it's not cheap.   I hope to head shot a turkey with my very accurate .22.  hahah..

when I get back, I have two weeks to catch a Ling..hahah...  my new rod/reel combo won't slime itself!!

Happy Holidays.  2025 has been pretty good.  the best of it, was all you guys teaching me how to fish the ocean. 

I will save some big lings to test your new gear.
