okay. the Braid is installed. 

its thin!  and metered.  kinda neat. 

I managed to go straight braid to the spool, no mono backing.  no tape.   San Diego Jam knot, with a long tag end draped across the spool for added traction.  it is my new method to attach braid to a spool.  just one wrap was tight enough I couldnt spin the line on the spool with leather gloves..I pulled hard!!

Big reels take a lot of braid!
I was more or less floored when I had to fill my two big ass bluefin reels. Braid, plus topshot was more than I've paid for whole set ups!

I use 50 on a lot of my rods as I can see it to tie knots.   I do run Suffix 10# on my drop shot rod.

10 is thin!  I run 20 suffix for drop shot.  It’s what I’ve grown accustomed to.
