It's been a few years since I did a midnight soak on the opener. Unlike last time, it was nice and warm night and got a limit of dungeness.

Great video Moo. Nice limit of crabs. What did you use to light your bouys?

Thank you guys. Not the same brand but like it. I put it in the 20 oz gatorade or vitamin water bottle so that it stays afloat.

That's a great idea for locating the bouys at night. Thanks for the info.

Nice video, but no sail? I always fly my AI sail when it’s dark. Then whenever I think that I need added visibility, I’ll shine my headlight (white light mode) on the open sail. That creates a beacon that can be seen from miles away…

The biggest reason why I started to use the light is that a while back when I was lobster hooping, a power boater complained about no light on my buoy. He said he might not see it and run in over, and get his props tangled up. So, I started using the light as a courtesy but it makes it so much easier to locate them.

That's very cool. I'm just not comfortable sailing at night yet and I didn't need to cover much water. It was less than 1 mile to the crabbing ground and back.

Great video Moo. I haven't been fishing at night for............  Last time was on a boat for seabass out of Santa Cruz.

So far, my scheduled retirement is Mid-December.

Almost made it to Bodega last week.  Besides Dungies, I love fresh mussels from that area as well. Usually treat myself to some smoked salmon from the "Tides" market.
