What’s up dudes and dudettes.

I’ve been on the site for a few years, lurked a little, posted here and there, knew I always wanted to go all in and begin Kayak Fishing our central of Northern California Waters

Well, it has happened, and I got it bad.

We are out of Monterey, and the current Fishing fleet consists of a 2016 Hobie Revo16, and a 2017 AI that I recently picked up from a wonderful NCKA member.

Have had some success so far with Rock fish and Lings out of Monterey and Moss Landing. Still hoping for that first Butt as the season tapers off.  Have a small quiver of hoop nets standing by, so looking forward to some Crab here soon too.

Looking forward to the conversations, yall. 🤙

Nice choices on the yaks. My understanding is you got your yaks recently? Dungie season is just around the corner.

Long time paddler (white, fresh and saltwater) and longtime angler (shore bound).

I had a pair of Outbacks that I planned on outfitting for the ocean but just never got around to it. Paddled them for several years, neger truly liked them - couldn’t justify the lack of speed for the excellent stability and carrying capacity. Offloaded one a couple years ago, then traded the other for the Revo 16 last year. The AI is a recent acquisition from a fellow NCKA member.

I understand you also run an AI?  Such a cool platform. So much fun, and so capable and flexible. I’m really digging it.

I love it when I get to sail it. I don't love it when I'm loading, unloading, setting it up and breaking down  :smt044 :smt044

I hear ya. It is indeed quite the production car topping the AI solo. the Revo 16 feels like my ultralight grab and go set up after a couple times slinging the AI around.  But once out in the water all that work is so worth it.
