They are planning to replace the bridge over a 3 year period and the campground will be closed during that time - 2028-2031.
I guess we still get a couple years.

We will miss going there when they are closed. I wonder how much damage the campground will incur during the construction. Might take a while to get it up and running after the bridge is done.

Wow.
I know the engineers on that project.  I’ll ask a few questions.  I never get to close a campground for the duration of a project.  I’ll ask.

2028 start - get your fix while you can. They will probably have to pay for leasing the campground (for the duration of the project) won’t they?

Staging and operation of the construction of the new bridge will take a lot of space. Logically, it should meet or exceed those revenues which will be missed due to closure.

It seems that the Albion Bridge Stewards are still trying to save the old bridge.

3 years to replace a bridge? At that rate, the interstate highway system would have taken a couple of millennia to complete...

What I read suggested that the river will still be open to boats. I hope there will be some way to launch upstream a little and still get out to fish. I believe there is a ramp where the other campground was.

There is a launch ramp a bit upriver, see red circle

If the highway was just closed and they didn’t worry about containing debris, chemicals and river/ocean/beach cleanliness, it would be less than a third of the time

That ramp is part of the Albion River Campground. If the campground is closed I’m assuming the ramp will be also. Schooners Landing had a ramp I believe, but it’s a little farther up river than the one in the picture.
