Lost All Hope then It Happened

It was pretty sketchy getting out of the harbor with so many, never ending lines of powerboats. I wanted to sail but there was no wind but it gave me a chance to really test out my new 18lb thrust watersnake on my AI. After trolling for 8 hours, all I had to show for was three mini white sea bass and a squid. I lost all hope and was hungry but I wasn’t tired since I motored around all day. I was planning on sleeping in the car and go at it again on Friday so I had nothing better to do but continue trolling. All of sudden, as I was lowering down my line with 8 oz weight, I got a hit followed by classic chrome headshake. Every time when the fish made a run towards me, I got nervous and reeled up fast to keep tension. So stressful. Walked the fish on the side of the kayak to tire him out then netted the fish from the trampoline. It's a nice chunk. A few minutes later, another hook up. Pretty much the same process except this was bigger . Even more stressful. Walked him on the side for a while until he bellied up then scooped him up. Congrats Moo - I watched the video this morning. You had to be one of the high liners at HMB as it sounded pretty slow from the reports I received.

That cop car brad's cut plug did most of the damage for me over the weekend with the dark skies - it landed five keepers over two days fishing on my buddy's boat. Then the watermelon version produced for me at Bolinas over the weekend. They work but you need REALLY good swivels on your line. Also, if you run them with a spinning flasher make sure they both spin the same direction or it will be a birds nest in no time.
