Whew!! :smt038

Finally got the skunk off the yak from san luis reservoir. Scored two 23" stripers . caught and released a 22 and 17 inch. top water lures were the ticket!

Paddled from dinosaur point out about 3/4 of a mile until the wind picked up. Paddled back to the cove for protection. After about another hour and a half , the wind settled. Was a great day. Paddled from seven am to 12:00. What a work out. :smt118

My first score from a yak.

I do know you should be wary of the winds though. They do pick up all of a sudden.

Today was a bit of a work out from last week. I had the wind in my favor coming in. (but no fish!) Today it was against me! But great fishing

How big of a top-water lure were you using? how heavy of line?

and btw, unless you have pics, we are not believing any car salesmen,  :smt003.

Yes! and bye the way. your gonna need a 100,000 mile warranty to go with that vehicle. It's going to be in your best interest. Trust ME!! :smt044

I do need photo's. My digital camera has been misplaced by my significant other. I do have them on my cell phone. Which does'nt have internet capabilities. I am probably going to pix message to a friend who has email, so i can download.

I admit that those do bear a passing resemblance to fish...  :smt003

I believe the top water lure was an accura.  BMWs catch bigger fish, and if you are interested in the record, we need to consult your financial planner... :smt002

It was neither an acura or bmw. It was the new 2008 honda accord. Also tried the 2007 and 2008 cadillac.  :smt002 You don't need a financial planner e2g. 0% for five years :smt002

J, you doubted my integrity. Then you ask for my top water secrets. How dare you!!!!

I can tell you this? when you lauch out of dinosaur point:............ paddle to the east,.................... look straight out ................and you will see ........................................"A BIG RED X IN THE WATER" fish there :smt044

J/k J. I was using 15lb test with a shad pattern. top water on the troll.

Thanks,  :smt002.  I don't really know what I am doing over there, so some data
points, like the wholesale cost of a 2008 honda accord station wagon with everything,
can be very useful at times!

Now that you have caught and documented catching keepers, you are an expert!
So... I have a little 2.5" chug type lure and some big 5" mirro-lure poppa dogs (saltwater
spooks more or less), do you think either of those would work?
