Two Retired Fishermen Report from Russian Gulch, 8/13/2025

Dr. Dave and I got together at the parking lot around 6:45 AM.  He arrived early and had already gotten ready.  Since my wife joined today, it took extra time to set it up.

We headed to the nearest spot first, and David and I got vermilions.  After that, we went to deep water pinacles.  David got a large cabazon from  100 feet to the water.  I was surprised, I thought they are typically shallower water around 50'.  He also got a big ling.  I got a big vermilion.  We headed south to the point, and I got a good-sized ling.  My wife was catching all the China rockfish today; she got 7 of them.

Great day for two retired fishermen.

No, I am waiting for the nearshore season is close.  We might have to wait until next year if the emergency regulation is approved.
