BTW. is everyone putting the trans in the back Just so the cockpit will drain faster or are there other reasons?

unfortunately you don't really have a choice Z....the Tridents came with the front (footwell) mounted transducer scupper holes while the new P15's come with the rear (tankwell) mounted trans scupper holes.

Mr. Van Son,

Thank you for contacting Humminbird.  The plastic thru hull transducer used on the Ocean Kayak is part number XTH 9 20 P cost $91.99 plus shipping and handling.  Let us know if you have any further questions.

Man I wish I had a new one laying around to use to upgrade. That is a $70 clam difference between exchange prices and new purchase price.

Anyone have an unused Humminbird transducer laying around?

Hi Scott, The one I got for my Trident is the plastic thru hull XTH 20 P. Fit in the scupper hole and is held in with a plastic nut. Got it online at the Hummingbird site.  Dan

Ben,
Where did you get the "connectors?" for the cables to go into the wall of the kayak?  Any info would be helpful.  Your set-up looks great!

You can purchase the cable seal at West Marine. They are about $24.00. You want the larger one. Drill the hole in the kayak just big enough to fit the cable head through and followup with the cable seal. There are two parts to the seal. the first part is screwed into the kayak using epoxy on the screw threads. The second part has threaded screws that screw into the first part, sandwitching the rubber seal between the two. The cable is ran to the front along the side. There are other photos available in the rigging section.
Let me know if you need anything further.

Good Luck
Ben
