Short version
-----
In January, I sent in my Kokatat semi-drysuit for routine maintenance, and they told me it had delaminated, and they would replace it for free (including the larger-than-normal sized socks that I use). They were backlogged so it took a while, but I got it today.

Back story
-----
Many moons ago, I bought a Kokatat (Gore-Tex) semi-drysuit on closeout, for about 1/2 the regular price. It was an unusual style, as it unzipped into 2 separate pieces around the middle. I thought the ability to use the top by itself might be a nice feature, although I didn't use it often in that mode.

After 1 year, I sent that suit in for a routine leak test, and they said the zipper was malfunctioning, so they replaced it for free. A couple years later, I sent it in again for routine maintenance, and they said it was delaminated, so they would replace it for free. Since they didn't make that same model/style anymore, they sent me a comparable (actually, better) version for free. That one would have cost more than 2x what I paid for the original one. This is the one that delaminated and was just replaced. So, I'm now on my 3rd new Kokatat semi-drysuit, all for the price of 1/2.

Btw, in the interim, I bought a Kokatat full drysuit (i.e., latex neck gasket, instead of neoprene), also Gore-Tex. That's what I've been using so far this year, and maybe I'll do a side-by-side comparison sometime. In any case, it definitely feels heavier-duty, and it took some getting used to, but now I love it. It is especially great for cold weather and the really rough/splashy sailing that is not uncommon on the AI.

I had a similar experience and got a new replacement suit about six year ago.  I just sent it in for wrist replacement and water test, and should get back today. I've been off the water for the last four years dealing with my wifes health issues.  I hope to see you on the soon.

I bought my Kokatat drysuit used, sent it in later to have the wrist gaskets repaired and they sent me a brand new one, very happy camper with Kokatat.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

I didn't realize that it had been 4 year, as it seems like only yesterday. Hope to see you on the water soon. The halibut are in town, so the sooner, the better...
