Flounder gigging & crab hunting

Went out gigging with my brother in Galveston Bay.  It's minus tide so water was not clear.  We caught plenty of crabs but only 1 barely legal flounder.

I'd swear their "flounder" are California halibut!  Do they have a Texas accent?

I used to live in Maryland, and blue crabs are a lot more work to eat than eating dungies, but so tasty.

My younger son just moved to Houston to work for a NASA contractor, so I might have to give this gigging thing a try one of these days. Maybe I'll even haul an AI down there and explore the gulf coast...

That head lamp looks a lot easier to deal with than 1965 when I was stationed at Keesler AFB.   They used Coleman lanterns then.  I never did gig, but saw itor two.
