How about Indian Valley Res? Camping, Fishing, Shooting, Off Roading and it's fairly secluded.

I’ve always wanted to check out the Kokanee there. Heard it used to be good. I’d be game for that.

Many fishermen spend their lives chasing fish, only to realize that it was themselves that they were chasing.

The "Salty" in my handle refers to my attitude, not the waters I fish

Hey Kevin!

Do you know of any particular spots on the reservoir? I've camped all around the reservoir but never on it. I know some people cross the bridge and head down the creek a bit.
To be honest, I haven't been up there in years. We used to have a huge family camp out there every year. We camped on the north end off of Bartlett Springs Road. I was true dirt camping. No toilets and No water. I have no idea what it's like now. There have been a few fires in that area since I've been there.

Right on. I was up there a few weeks ago and it's all legit. The water levels are so high, though, that there's not a whole lot of room along the shores of the main reservoir. If it's not raining too bad this weekend I might shoot out there and do some recon.

The road in used to be terrible, how is it now?  Close to 30 years since I was there.   Don’t know if I would want to take the truck camper down the road in the old days.

There's three ways in.

From the West, near Nice, there's Bartlett Springs Road. It's is a cool little "trail" that a Prius could probably do. It is regularly graded.
From the West or East there's Bear Valley Road which, for the most part, is a straight dirt road that is pretty "washboardy" but no problem at all. Bonus is that hopefully in a few weeks there will be a super bloom there.
Also from the East there is Walker Ridge Road, which I personally can't stand. It's super bumpy and rocky and there's not much scenery.

I'm pretty set on having the get-together here, if people are interested. The only downside is there was only two or three good looking spots that can hold a decent amount of people and there's nothing to stop us showing up there and there already being twenty people there. If that was the case we could all find different places to camp in the area with no problem, we just wouldn't all be together. Just some things to think about.

I'm super busy at work, but will post some videos I took later this afternoon.

Looked good if we are able to secure one of the two or three areas that can hold a small group. That'd be sweet if you could make it up for the event!  :smt006

Here's an idea of the different camp spots. The thumbs up waypoints are spots that could accommodate a decent sized group if we are able to secure one of them.

Also note that there is NO WATER OR ANY KIND OF FACILITIES HERE. Pack it in pack it out!

I heard local rumors years ago of Kokanee at that lake. Never verified for myself. Always been curious but not dedicated enough to check it out for myself.
