Hi All,

I have a Hobie compass. I'm about to pull the trigger on a Hobie Trax 2 Plug In Kayak Cart with balloon wheels. Do people like theirs? It's expensive, but using the scupper holes seems like such a better solution than dealing with straps.

Make sure to put tennis balls on them to avoid scupper cracks. Happend on my outback and luckily was under warranty. Besides that they work well.

thx. To avoid any confusion, what do you mean by tennis balls on the end? Do you cut a bunch of tennis balls in half and "skewer" them on the rod? Or just use one, half tennis ball per pole? or another way. I def don't want to put a crack in the boat

I’ve been using a plug in cart since 2015 with no issues. I did a couple of mods for my use.

I cut down the uprights so that I don’t have to lift the kayak as high for putting the cart on and taking it off.

I put on tennis balls as well. 1 ball per and cut in half. I’ve attached a bad picture of what I mean.

Thanks all!
I went out yesterday and the balloon wheel on my Malone cart deflated! I think there was too much weight / pressure on the wheel and the air came out at the valve. It sucked. And personally I've been having a lot of issues with loading the kayak on the cart, and having it stay straight. Often it feels like the boat touches a wheel or one of the straps, which creates friction and makes it hard to push. Plus the straps are annoying to deal with.
I'm hoping the scupper hole design will be an improvement!
