Thanks again Eric for organizing and hosting such a great event. I've been coming to this tournament for quite a few years and I'm never disappointed. The conditions were challenging but still fishable and I want to congratulate Matt on being AOTD. Well deserved! I also want to thank Claire for helping me with my fish printing. The shirt was for my wife and she was impressed. Finally it was nice that my brother didn't kick my ass like he usually does. I'll accept a tie as a win any day.

This was my first time attending GS event. Wished I could've gotten there earlier and stayed longer. I missed the pre-fish, fish printing and pot luck but still had a good time on the water. Thank you Eric for the time and effort you put in to organizing the event and doing the intro in my video.

I want to get better at the Gyotaku. Here are my prints.
It does make the fish appear larger as you wrap the material around the edges.

My hands were all fishy, so not many photos from the check-in station.  I'll post up some later - gotta go fillet my fish from today.   :smt001

Small Craft Advisory let up, so I hit the red can and then let the current ride me down to Tolo for a 7 species sampler session.

Report at ~5.   :smt004

Right!

I mean what kind of sixteen page thread about a kayak fishing tournament doesn't even have pictures of fish?!

Been awhile, really enjoyed coming back. Fishing was tough but had a great time. Caught 1 legal ling and a Sailfish by the scruff of his neck :smt005 Thanks Sonny for posing

What a great f'in time! Thank you Eric for puttin this awesome event back on. It was surely missed as its been quite awhile since Ive made it back to GS. Loved visiting old friends and meeting all the new ones. The fishing is only part of the fun. The potluck was off the chains! Congrats to the winners you earned it. I'll be back! see ya on the water

Last night I got some Gyppo and then hung at the Takagi's camp, and it's possible that I had just a bit too much to drink...  Got up early and saw that the ocean was nicer, as forecast, so I got rolling and got on the water just after 7AM.  I went straight out to the Whistle, since it had basically been off limits all weekend due to the wind and slop.  Once out there I let the north-to-south current take me down toward the Tolo Bank where I found a nice variety of species biting my offerings.  I kept a canary, a brown and an eater ling, and I released several others including a nice copper and a 27" ling that got me 45" as a set - about the average score for two fish turned in on Saturday.

The wind started coming up around noon, so I slowly made my way back toward the launch from about 2 miles south.  By the time I got to the harbor it was puffing hard - it was nice to get the paddling session in.   :smt001
