Thanks to the hard work of bsteves the 2025 AOTY website is up and open for business!
http://aoty.norcalkayakanglers.com/

Entries are free in 2025

If you competed last year I have activated your account.

If you have caught an eligible fish since the 1st go ahead and enter it now.

If you have never competed before reply here or send me a message and we will get you set up.

If you have no idea what it is it stands for Angler Of The Year. It is a friendly fishing competition between members on this site. 21 different species of fish from both salt and fresh water can be entered with the highest scoring 10 fish being counted. Points are based upon points per inch assigned to the different species. It challenges an anglers abilities to target the different species.

Other than bragging rights I will post/update as prizes come available.

Have fun in 2025 everyone.
-John

Hey John
Just wondering, has AOTY ever considered putting crab on the list of species  to target?

Not enough variance from keeper to max size to make the scoring make sense. Less than 10 size classes based upon 1/4” measurements? Also measurement would be a challenge since gauges are designed to measure minimum sizes. I realize that people could use a micrometer and measure in something other than 1/4” increments, but that is entirely too much work for everyone involved.
