Unfortunatly not a good fishing report from coyote resevoir in gilroy. :smt010

Was a great morning of yaking though. Snuck in a few hours of paddling time before work. :smt001

Pulled all types of artificial and even bait with no love. :smt007

There was one interesting point in which it was clear skies at about 8 am. Then out of know where this huge low flying cloud with a strong breeze behind it rolls in. I thought i was at moss landing fishing for salmon for awile. :smt044

B.T.W., There is quite a bit of construction going on there. The campgrounds are closed as well as still the boat launch. You can still hand launch. Coyote is a great lake. the only thing that is missing that would be nice, would be showers!

Don't see enough Coyote reports on here. Thanks for the info Bulldog.
I grew up in Gilroy and fished Coyote A LOT. A few years ago, the place got a rep as a big bass lake then got hammered by fishermen, many of whom kept the trophy-sized bass. Bummer...but there are still some hawgs on there. Too bad you didn't find any. Maybe you're just increasing the odds for your next trip! What part of the lake did you fish?
Last time I was there, in August, I couldn't find any bass over 10 inches so I resulted to catching planter trout and crappie.

I fished straight out of the boat ramp and south. Would have liked to fish towards the damm, but i took a very small kayak and the wind was a bit much.

It really is great for fishing this year with the boat launch closed. No power boaters or skiers. :smt001. Paddlers heaven.

I fish this lake quite a bit also. It is not like it use to be. This year they released a lot of water and it has not fished well. On the good side there is still quit a few bass over 10lb mark there.
