Berryessa has a new quarantine for motorized boats but apparently not for non-motorized kayaks

Of course the cappel cove boat launch is closed for tax revenues or lack of maintenance.
I'm awaiting the response from the guberment entity in charge.
I saw that. Unfortunately it doesn’t really tell you much. Are you failed for slight moisture inside the kayak?

I read around the various topics,  my best understanding of the statement that said, something like...
Non motorized craft are not required to adhere to the 30 day sticker program.
And the line that said ...
Kayakers are encouraged to show up clean and dry.

To release us from the "ban on use" in the 30 day period.

I have 2 emails into cdfw and Solano cty. Asking for clarification.
As there is this...
See second line,  and 4th(in black) lines for what is I think the only free public launch ?

Hand launched watercraft with electric motors like fishing kayaks, require an inspection prior to launch. Non-motorized watercraft, such as kayaks and paddleboards, are not subject to inspection, are encouraged to be inspected for free at any watercraft inspection station, or if you are instructed to do so by trained staff at popular launch locations. All paddlers are encouraged to arrive Clean, Drained, and Dry.

My kayak is motorized though.

I called Putah Canyon today and at first he tried to tell me it would be quarantined for 30 days. I told him the web page specifically mentioned motorized fishing kayaks but I wanted to know what the inspection required. He didn’t really seem to know and assured me they would check it out and get me on the water. No puddles of water inside the hull. I might go up Sunday and try it out.

I would make sure everything is 100% dry. No drops or condensation even. I've failed at other lakes for a literal drop of water in the bottom of a rod holder, with a heavy fog on the road to the lake. I pull over outside the park before inspection and wipe everything down, even on sunny days.

I believe that they are scrambling to get a handle on the situation,  as it's an "emergency " most likely why cappel is closed ( no full time staff to do checks) clean and dry needs to be crystal clear and they aren't going to be flexible in hopes of curtailment ( fat chance) I'm waiting for the response from the county.
I'll post up when they get back to me.

Well I hooked the hose on my shop vacuum to the exhaust side and let blow into my kayak hoping it will get the dampness out. I’m going to try Putah canyon tomorrow and see what they say.

We are all definitely curious to how this goes.  Good idea to blow it out a bit - don't forget to hit the rod holders too.

Good luck!  I am sure if everything is dry you will be fine.
