I am looking to give the Napa River a try this Saturday hopefully but I need some advice on launch spots. I live in Walnut Creek so I am looking for spots closer to Eastbay. Also, if anyone want to join me, that would be great! Thanks for info.

I always launch at Cuttings Wharf (free) and go with the tides, usually down river to the Napa Sough but sometimes upriver to Kennedy Park, where there is another launch. I suspect fishing is better further down from Napa Slough towards Vallejo.
Unlike Benicia, most of Napa River is technically considered SF Bay so only one rod can be fished.

This one seems to confuse even the newer warden out there, Anyone have dedicated coordinates?

Hey, I've just gotten leave for taking the yak out tomorrow. Will be keen for Napa. I've always fished Benica for Stripers, but reports so far have been slow.

I'm keen to join up. I've never fished Napa, pairing up to figure it out would be good. I was thinking 7am-7:30 launch Cuttings wharf? (dawn is 7am-ish). Weather looks good all day too.

Grey outback here. Sounds like I’ll be launching earlier. I’ll be on channel 69.

Good luck out there tomorrow!  Cooler temps the last few days should have fish moving a little bit more...

Trancas Bridge and downstream is considered bay.

Not much to report from Napa unfortunately. I had a fun first outing there. Managed a 20" striper in first 20mins. Which was an exciting start. But spent the rest of the day looking at marks on the fish finder.

I launched Cuttings Wharf 7:15ish. To test the waters I headed downriver against the tide to the rail bridge. Got the fish on the way (chrome rattletrap). Feeling hopeful, casted around some structure, marks, and even various fish striking close to the surface. But could not get anything else to hit.

Started heading up river 9:30ish. The tide was turning at 11 and I didn't want to be downstream of the launch at that point (first time, wanted to play it safe). Various marks on the way. Mostly trolling a rattle trap. No bites. Water was hitting 70.5f at the Kennedy Park boat launch. Figure this was getting too warm for Stripers, so headed back down river. Water was definitely cooler downriver. Closer to 68 at the launch.

Said hello to a few passing boats. Only one reported a single fish. So seemed to be a slow day, or the action was downriver.

Your report seems to be the story so far for stripers this year.  I think those last couple heat waves still have us a little jammed up.  I think another week or so of cooler weather and maybe a little rain will hopefully encourage more to push up into the system.  I bet San Pablo Bay is probably the place to try right now.
