Stripped Drain Plug Hobie AI (2012)

Hi everyone, the female portion of the drain plug on my 2012 Adventure Island is completely stripped. The plug can be pulled in and out with very little force. I’ve temporarily reinforced it using electrical tape on the male threads, but I’m looking for a more secure and permanent solution. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

You could probably heat the plastic and effectively cut new threads. But, if it was mine, I’d just goop the plug in place, and use a bilge pump and sponge to remove water. I’ve never found the drain plugs useful on the AI.

Lots of good options to consider here. I'll start with that expanding T-handle stopper from West Marine. If it's ineffective or annoying, I'll just be Gooping it and calling it a day.
