Im going to paddle the Pajaro river soon but can't find anything about fishing there. Salinas River has all the striper regulations just trying to make sure its not the same issue in the pajaro. Any suggestions?

it's very similar to the salinas river

(71) Pajaro River (Monterey, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and
San Benito cos.) from mouth to Uvas Creek. Also see
subsection 8.00(c) Low-Flow Restrictions.

Dec. 1 through Mar. 7, but
only on Sat., Sun., Wed., legal
holidays and opening and
closing days. Only barbless
hooks may be used.

2 hatchery trout or hatchery
steelhead**.
4 hatchery trout or hatchery
steelhead** in possession.

in highschool i used to fish the Uvas creek so i'm pretty familiar with the Pajaro.

Yeah think steelhead when fishing there and be sure to have a report card even if you didn't fish for steelhead.

Always thought about paddling pajaro. Looks nice in the spring when the farms are quiet and water levels high. Enjoy the scenery!

There is a new launch they made for us near the water treatment plant. We are going to do tours there for the city. Its a sweet spot but just couldnt find anything on fishing regs there. I figured no matter what it would be barbless and would need the steelhead stamp just really wanted to know seasons Can I fish there in October

Can you fish there outside of the winter season for other fish besides trout?

Adam it is the same as Salinas river.  Very few steelhead in those rivers, but the ARE steelhead rivers. Consequently no fishing allowed whatsoever except in steelhead season/days. Steelhead regs apply. (Barbless etc)  Striper fishing can be fun in December.  Actually, really fun.
