So what's the deal with Shark Shield? Are they done for good? Mine just crapped out again, and I don't know what to do, or if there is anything I can do.
Their product has gotten worse in my opinion, which could have something to do with their current state of affairs. My first one last 8 years or so. Now they last about 1-2 years before getting the four green flashes of death.

Any ideas?
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Live without one.  When did anyone even get injured by a shark while kayak fishing, crabbing or just touring?

Hope that doesn't bring the curse against me!   :smt005

Yeah, I guess that's the only option.
It's just seems crazy to me that this technology hasn't been continuously improved and perfected.

This is the way... Ive done it to both of mine, and they can last all day long hooked up to a Noaqua.

Or not, like Eric said.  For me, I feel like the SS is a semi-proven "nice-to-have."  If I forgot mine, it wouldnt ever keep me from launching.

I sent mine in for repairs back in May and have heard nothing. It doesn’t stop me from launching in the salty stuff, just adds a little piece of mind while OTW.

Hi Andrew.  Ernest just fixed mine.  His handle is Lucky13.  There is salt water seepage where the black cable meets the probe. My model A is the faulty one.  My model C is the warrior that is my original. There is an excellent thread on this forum about his discoveries.  He cut off the rusty damage and reattached it with some reinforcement but no quarentees.  I like Eric's philosophy which may be reality in time...be well... :smt006

From the article below:

"... the company also went into receivership in May, with the appointed receiver, Andrew Quinn of Mackay Goodwin, taking over Ocean Guardian."

"Ocean Guardian incurred losses of $1.2 million in the 2023 financial year and lost a further $336,000 in the most recent reporting period."

I still have a SS new in box. Bought it during the group buy in 2018 and never used it.
I wonder if the battery is any good after sitting for 5 or 6 years.

Papa Al! I’d buy it if you want to sell it :smt044
