Hello, I'm not much of a kayak angler. Many years on boats in the salt but I recently moved to the foothills and have been taking my kayak out on the small lakes around here. I enjoy it but I don't think I'll be taking it out in the ocean anytime soon.

Welcome. If you are interested there is a beginner friendly derby this weekend in Monterey. Its the salt but with around 100 anglers on the water in calm conditions it could be a good way to get your feet salty

Welcome Gerbil, there are a lot of members in the Sacramento and surrounding hills. Where are you? If you are interested in going for Trout or Kokanee, let me know.
