What a great trip! Theresa and I had a fabulous time and made some new friends to boot!

Like most everybody else, I managed a few stripers and a catfish, but I was nowhere near the money with the weight. Still, these were the first real fish I have caught on my yak since I got it back in June. Thanks to Mooch and FishHunter for helping to put me on the fish!

Also, the dogs say thanks for the attention and hospitality. Steve and Bessie certainly lived up to their rock-star personas. I can't wait to make it to the next NCKA event!

Good job Chucke. I'm still curious as to that last fish that broke me off though... that one will pretty much haunt me for a while. It's all good though... mission accomplished.

Thanks Bro.  I was just lucky that monster striper broke you off, otherwise, I'd have to swap places with you on the podium. :smt003

I'll remember to be better prepared for the cold nights next year though... Man, it was cold... coming from me... that's saying alot... Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Heck... just seeing Freddie in long pants says alot.  :smt043

The photos don't really do the buckles justice.  In real life they are incredible, Shimmy is an amazingly talented guy.

....up on sunday morning before the rooster cackles, I head to saturdays hot spot(vinegar pt.) to give the last of my minnows a chance to do what they were bred for. (Pic~1)As I leave from from BAM CAMP
I follow the ledge/drop off from 20-30fow and find a deep hole (now deemed BAM CAMP HOLE) that drops from 10ft. to 30ft. and it's in a spit away from the shore. I find the right kind of marks on the TV and send em' down, paddle backwards a bit, then forward a bit, ZZZZZZZZZZZZ goes the drag and up comes a Striper(pic2).Then the sun makes it's appearance(pic3)

....fished the spot for one more fish on, then fish off. Used all my buddies up and headed back to pick up camp and drive home, all the while thinking about what a UNBELIEVABLE GROUP of PASSIONATE PEOPLE, gathering together for FUN,FOOD,CAMP,COMRODARIE and to CATCH FISH from a thin piece of plastic we call our YAKS!.......and not take it too seriously.

THANKS to ALL WHO PARTICIPATED AND TO THE "GREAT" FAMILY WHITE!   .........keep us posted when the topwater goes off, I'll be right back up there!

my vote for FOOD that delivered the best flavor for its size?....BACON WRAPPED DATES from Dan's/mahi-mahi wife.

...and last but not least!   the SCARY MOMENT of the trip...Nate/Bungle's look in this shot(pic4) not quite halloween but close enough.  :smt002

Hi all, :smt006

firstly congrats to all who won and well done Sean for putting on a great event again.  Although Vic and I signed up to participate, family commitments got in the way and at the last moment we were unable to make the event.  :smt010  Seems like we missed a whopper!

Does anyone know who to contact about getting our event t-shirts? We signed up early enough to get them and although we did not  join you all we would still love to wear our shirts with pride while fishing this side of the valley! :smt007

Cheers, Eldore'

PM Sean.  I believe he's hanging on to some shirts for those who paid and unfortunately couldn't show up.

Congrats to ChuckE for the first place finish that slipped through Freddies fingers with a snap of the leader.  :smt013 What a great gathering with fishing that was totally insane. I myself brought in some nice fish with the last fish being the biggest and after weigh ins at 31".. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it well hanging from the tree at the end of the day so no AOTY post for me unless someone else has a picture of it at the base camp.
Great meeting up with everyone and man am I burnt out. Just got back from trying my skills at Knights Crossing with no love.  :smt013

I remember someone saying that we should do this more often. I agree! Fun, fun, fun in the sun. No hunger, no thirst, no lack of bent rods, laughing till it hurt, it was a great time. Fantastic weather too. Congrats to the winners, thanks to the family White, and a treat to meet so many cool people. I only wish it were longer so as to get to know everyone.
I was hoping the great rainbow on friday evening was a good omen for the following day. It was!
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

All you need is a participant in the AOTY to confirm/witness that it IS, WHAT IT WAS, then no pic is needed!  now is when you find out who your real friends are   :smt062 :cussing:  .....you didn't show it to me. :smt010

Ah... I don't think so.  The rules are the rules, and there is no provision for this in the rules.  Sorry, but we gotta be consistent.

:smt044 :smt044 HA! Thats rad that you picked up on that!  My girlfriend is constantly taking pictures, and I'm used to making a face or something to ruin the picture when I catch the camera pointed at me.  I wasn't trying to ruin the picture, Adam, just a reflex I guess. :smt003
