I'm watching the weather and making tentative plans for an outing from Miller Boat Launch on 8/24/24. Thinking about dropping some pots for rock crab close to Hog Island and trying my luck with halibut while the pots soak.
Putting out an open invitation to join me both for safety in numbers and perhaps to meets some of you fine folks in person.

I love that place!  I'm a Monday guy in general.  Might do Friday if the wind stays down.  Hope you slay.  There will be plenty of boats on a Saturday so you won't be alone in my estimation... :smt006

I did manage to bring in a bunch of rock crab from my outing this Saturday. I had seen a few posts from people complaining about getting nothing but rock crab in that area (during dungeness season) so I figured it might work out. As for fishing while the pots soaked, I managed to snag a lot of seaweed and not much else. Still a great day out, and with crab as my main goal I was happy to bring home a full cooler.

Yumm I love red rock crab.
Some people don’t realize they’re open year-round.
Enjoy!
