Halibut trolling mission. Incredible amount of bait and creatures chasing bait. Whales/sea lions/porpoises/diving birds. Tried chasing the bait myself but hooked into several large salmon so had to move on :smt044. Eventually got into a keeper halibut in 30fow on a yellow hoochie behind a gold/silver dodger. One strike, one fish. As far as halibut goes that is

Good stuff thanks for the report!

Reminds me of a time or two I got out there after salmon....so much activity with the whales, threshers and other large sea life popping up all around.

Would be nice to harvest and tray up some anchovies but likely after the effort to get there it would be hard to focus on getting bait.

Good move, and thank you very much for making that call and posting about it.  As a guide, I have focused hard on avoiding salmon, and it's worked out these past two seasons.  I've been proud of how the rest of the kayak fleet has done so too.
