Hi,
We just got back from Alaska.  The sockeye salmon fishing was very good.  Generally, the 3rd week in July is a good time to go for sockeye on Kenai river. Most of the sockeye we flossed was 7lbs.  At the public spots it’s not a wilderness experience.

Has anyone rented a raft and floated from skillak lake to bings landing?  Just curious if you can get away from people and catch sockeyes.
Thanks
Mark

Did that float almost exactly two years ago, and found a great spot that was just me and the crew I was with. It was an amazing experience

There are way more, and better, spots accessible via boat than the public spots.
