Hi everyone,
Been looking to Kayak Fish for the past 10 years...just kept putting it off.

I FINALLY pulled the trigger on a NEW Old Town PDL 132 from Sportsman's Warehouse for 50% off, drove to Yuma AZ to get it (just last week) because shipping was gonna be about $600 and 2 weeks.

Currently shopping for some necessary equipment like a paddle, PFD, VHF radio, and any equipment I need for that 1st day on the water.

I figure I will start in The Bay before heading out in Santa Cruz or Half Moon Bay just to get my feet wet and feel comfortable.

A little apprehensive but SUPER Excited!!! Any and All guidance is much appreciated.

Thanks!
Dave

Welcome Dave, a pleasure to meet you  :smt003  Consider launching in the SC harbor off their hand launch docks and just going for a paddle/peddle inside the harbor to get your feet wet so to speak.  Welcome to the madness, look forward to hearing your reports.

I’d second Al’s suggestion. And, on a calm day, fishing Santa Cruz is as user-friendly as anywhere (of course, you should have the basic safety gear).
